Writing has become so important to me over the past couple of years. After listening to Jim Rohn talk about becoming a student of life, I started taking notes on everything. I have quite a few journals containing quotes, notes, affirmations, and so many other things.

I used to think writing in a journal was girly or too sensitive but that’s total b.s. If any of you guys think you’re too much of a “man” to write in a journal, you need to set aside your ego.

Writing for me has been a major key to achieving a lot of the success I have. It has helped me visualize speaking in front of hundreds of people and get on TV. Now I’m not guaranteeing it will do the same for you but I promise it will change your life and here’s how it does…

Gives Directions To Your Life

Our mind wanders so much when we sit down to think or make a decision. With so many ideas flowing through our minds on a daily basis, it’s a waste not to find a way to write things down.

When you write out your daily thoughts and ideas, you get to see the paths you need to follow that can shape your life for the better. It singles out the one idea or line of thought that is most relevant to you.

Once you are able to identify that one idea your life should revolve around, it becomes much easier for you to get to your destination.

Helps You Understand Past And Present Events

By writing everyday, you will gain a deeper understanding and insight into the events of your past. You will become more clear on how your past has formed your beliefs and personality. Doing so will enable you to change your limiting beliefs if needed and become aware of anything that might be holding you back. It allows you to find meaning in your past and how it all plays a larger role in your amazing destiny.

Let’s You Express Yourself

Writing offers an amazing opportunity for you to express yourself. It gives you a voice, builds your confidence and allows you to get out whatever is on your mind at any point in time.

You will feel less troubled when you are given an opportunity to express yourself or share whatever is in your mind. The burden transfers from your mind to the paper. And with a clear mind, you can do things right and accomplish the impossible.

I find it very helpful to write out any troubling thoughts I might have in the morning. It releases the burden and gives me a free mind the rest of the day. (I learned this technique from Tim Ferriss, author of “The Four Hour Work Week”)

Helps Keep You Accountable

Writing daily offers you a unique opportunity to evaluate yourself. It makes you more responsible for your thoughts and actions and offers you something to reflect on daily.

Think about a mistake that you made last year that was written down. You got to learn from it, and as a result, you became more cautious in the future.

By holding yourself to account, you will push yourself to make great decisions and become an even better person.

Nourishes Your Imagination

Writing daily broadens your imagination by letting you record anything you find to be inspirational. It gives you the opportunity to trace back every book, article, word, action and project that made an impact on you. You can then revisit your ideas with ease, and build on them daily.

It also lets you expand your creativity. The blank page is just like a blank check where you can write any amount you want. The sheet of paper has no limitations or boundaries, allowing you to write down whatever comes to your beautiful mind.

Helps You Expand Your Resources

Writing down everything gives you more to refer back to in the future. You’ll have so much to look back on in your life if you ever need insight for a certain situation that may arise. Your records will serve as a guide for your day-to-day living.

Rewrite Your Life

Writing gives you the power to take control of your destiny, and rewrite your future. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be”.  Gaining a deeper understanding of yourself is an important step to living your dreams. Writing can help you do that — and become the author of your own life.

Remember, you are BLESSED and HIGHLY FAVORED! Go out there and do something GREAT!
