I’ve been thinking a lot about the future, especially with high school graduation closing in very quickly. Life is getting pretty exciting these days; I can see my destiny unfolding. You know, I believe all of us think about our destinies more than we think we do. However, most of us do not give our destinies the time of day. Somewhere along the line someone told you that you need to be realistic and that your dream is never going to happen. So you settled for a 9-5 job that pays you just enough to keep you from quitting and you work just enough to keep from getting fired. That’s an absurd way to live. That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: everything around you, that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same

When you read this blog don’t ignore that feeling within you. That liberating feeling of knowing that there’s more to life than what you’re now experiencing. It’s an amazing feeling to know that there are unlimited possibilities for your life. Focus in on that feeling within you and start to think about your dream. It may take some time; you may have buried that dream deep within you years ago but it’s never too late to make it become a reality. Whatever your dream is, it is your responsibility to make it happen. That was given to you and only you. You see, I do not believe that any of us have dreams that were not given to us for the purpose of accomplishing those particular dreams.

I know for many people, they put off their dreams because they don’t have the experience or knowledge they think they need.  First of all, you can learn anything. You have the resources. You are smarter than you think you are. You have to set aside your old way of thinking that says, “They’re just smarter than everybody else.” The people that have become successful in life are no different than you. Eric Thomas says, “Start where you are with what you have because what you have is plenty.” As for experience, you’ve got to start somewhere. “You don’t have to be great to get started but you have to get started in order to be great.” Les Brown said that and he was labeled educable mentally retarded as a kid. I would not be where I am today if I hadn’t set my ego aside and started working on my speaking skills. I knew I needed help, so I joined Toastmasters. I started out giving speeches with my hands in my pockets and staring at the ground and now I’m speaking to audiences consisting of hundreds of people. All of this is a result of having a dream and believing in the fact that I am destined for greatness. I’ll let you in on a secret… you too are destined for greatness.

Now your dream may not be to become known world wide, make millions of dollars,or to impact millions of people and that’s perfectly fine. Your dream is as equally important. You may have the dream of owning your own business, writing a book, or maybe even baking cookies, I don’t know what it is but if you feel you have something to give, if you feel your particular talent is worth developing or worth caring for then there’s nothing you can’t achieve.

We all have a destiny and if you’re reading this today and don’t know what it is, keep working on yourself to discover what your passion is. Life is an extraordinary thing when you know who you are and why you are here. It’s not going to be easy. Logical, practical thinking says, “You can’t do it today.” But if you’re going to produce unreasonable results in your life like living your dreams and taking charge of your destiny you’ve got to be an unreasonable person, you’ve got to be an uncommon person. George Bernard Shaw said, “The people that make it in this world look around for the circumstances that they want and if they can’t find them, they create them.” So I say to you today, your dream is possible! Don’t stop learning, growing, and creating. And don’t EVER stop running toward your destiny.

You are blessed and highly favored!
